It's tarantula mating season in the Bay Area which means you're much more likely to see the males out and about looking for hot spider sex. A few hikes that I'd recommend if you wanna go spider looking (or to avoid if you do NOT):

• Mitchell Canyon Staging Area at Mt. Diablo

• Black Diamond Mines in Pittsburg

• Almaden Quicksilver County Park in San Jose

Go right before dusk. Avoid crowds. Behold the horny spidies.
